Analyzing census data with R In-Person / Online

Overview: In this workshop you will learn how to efficiently find and extract census data and its geographical boundaries in R for the Canadian, the US and EU censuses.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to
      · find and extract data efficiently from the Canadian census
      · find and extract data efficiently from the US census
      · find and extract data efficiently from the Eurostat census
      · extract geographic boundary files, combine them with census data and display them on a map

Prerequisites:
      · Introductory knowledge of R, e.g. from McGill's R summer camp, or from our Introduction to programming with R workshop.
      · You need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructions here. Please contact us (cdsi.science at mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation. If you would like to take this workshop, but are unable to bring a laptop, please contact us as soon as possible.
