Introduction to the data science life cycle (using R)

Introduction to the data science life cycle (using R) In-Person / Online

Overview: This workshop presents an overview of the data science life cycle using the programming language R in the statistical programming environment RStudio. Using a simple data set, the instructor will walk participants through the different steps of the data science life cycle (e.g., manipulation, plotting, communication, code version control), presenting relevant R packages and representative commands for each step.

This tutorial is designed to help the learner prepare for the larger set of CDSI training offerings on the various specific stages of the data science life cycle.

Prerequisites: You need to bring your own laptop for this workshop. Install R and RStudio on your computer. You can find installation instructions here. Please contact us (cdsi.science at mcgill.ca) if you are having trouble with installation.
