Cet atelier examine comment les technologies basées sur l'intelligence artificielle (IA) peuvent menacer et enfreindre notre droit à la vie privée. Nous aborderons trois enjeux principaux : 1) comment définir le droit à la vie privée d’un point de vue éthique; 2) les différences entre le droit à la vie privée individuel et collectif; et 3) nous étudierons des cas appliqués pour évaluer quand et comment les systèmes d'IA contemporains menacent ces droits.

Overview:

The workshop considers how AI-based technologies can threaten and breach our right to privacy. We will work on three main issues: 1) how to define the right to privacy; 2) the differences between the individual and the group right to privacy; and 3) we will consider applied cases to evaluate when and how contemporary AI systems threaten this right.

À la fin de cet atelier, les participant.es seront en mesure de :

- Identifier les principaux arguments des débats contemporains sur la définition du droit à la vie privée d’un point de vue éthique;

- Distinguer entre le droit à la vie privée individuel et le droit à la vie privée collectif ;

- Expliquer pourquoi la vie privée est un droit important ;

- Évaluer les risques éthiques lié au déploiement des systèmes d'IA contemporains.

At the end of this workshop, the participants will be able to:

- Identify the main proponents in contemporary debates on how to define the right to privacy;

- Distinguish between the individual and the group right to privacy;

- Explain why privacy is an important right;

- Evaluate the ethical risks of contemporary AI systems

Prerequisites:

- You must bring your own laptop for this workshop.
